How to use it in class

  1. Pick the language and level your class is working at.
  2. Open a story and copy the address from the browser bar.
  3. Post it in Google Classroom, Canvas, Teams or Moodle, or put it on the board as a QR code.
  4. Students read and listen, tap anything they don't know, and answer the questions at the end.

Questions teachers ask

Is it really free?

Yes. All stories, audio, translations and comprehension questions are free, with no subscription and no paywall.

Do my students need an account?

No. A story link opens directly, so you can paste it into Google Classroom, Canvas, Teams or Moodle. A free account is optional and only adds saved words and progress tracking.

Which levels are covered?

CEFR A1 (beginner), A2 (elementary) and B1 (intermediate). Stories are 20 to 100 sentences long depending on level. There is nothing above B1 yet.

Can students see translations in their home language?

Yes. Any of the 12 languages can be the translation language, which helps in mixed ESL classes: one student can read an English story with Spanish translations, another with Polish or Portuguese.

Is the audio recorded by people?

No. The audio is high-quality synthetic narration with a native accent, so every story can have it. Playback speed is adjustable.
