Today is a special day for the students of Class 5B. They are going on a school trip. The bus is waiting in front of the school. The students are very excited. 'Good morning, everyone!' says Mrs. Johnson, their teacher. 'Please get on the bus quietly.' The students find their seats. Tom sits next to his best friend, Lisa. 'Where are we going today?' Tom asks Lisa. 'We are going to the Natural History Museum,' Lisa answers with a big smile. The bus ride takes about forty minutes. The students sing songs and play games. Finally, they arrive at the museum. It is a large, old building with big stone columns. 'Wow, this building is amazing!' Tom says, looking up at the entrance. A museum guide meets them at the door. She introduces herself as Sarah. 'Welcome to the Natural History Museum!' Sarah says. 'Today, you will see many amazing things.' The first room they enter has dinosaur skeletons. A huge T-Rex stands in the middle. 'Look at those teeth!' a boy named Max shouts. 'They are so big and sharp!' Sarah explains that T-Rex lived millions of years ago. It was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs. The next room is about ocean life. There are models of whales, sharks, and dolphins. A giant blue whale model hangs from the ceiling. It is the largest animal that has ever lived. 'How long is a blue whale?' Lisa asks curiously. 'Up to thirty meters,' Sarah answers. 'That is about as long as three buses!' The students walk through a room full of colorful butterflies. They are behind glass. 'The blue one is my favorite,' a girl named Emma says. After two hours of exploring, Mrs. Johnson announces it is time for lunch. Everyone goes to the museum cafe. The students eat their packed lunches. Tom has a sandwich, an apple, and juice. Lisa has pasta salad and cookies. 'What was your favorite part so far?' Tom asks the group. 'The dinosaurs!' most of the boys shout. 'The butterflies!' the girls answer. After lunch, they visit the space section. There are models of planets and rockets. Tom is fascinated by a real meteorite that visitors can touch. 'This rock came from space!' he tells Lisa excitedly. 'It is millions of years old!' The last room has an interactive science exhibit. Students can do experiments. Lisa learns how to make a small volcano erupt with baking soda and vinegar. 'This is so cool!' she laughs as the foam bubbles up. At three o'clock, Mrs. Johnson gathers everyone. 'It is time to go back to school,' she says. The students are a little sad to leave. They had such a wonderful time. Before leaving, each student buys something from the gift shop. Tom buys a small dinosaur figure. Lisa gets a butterfly poster. On the bus ride home, everyone is tired but happy. 'That was the best school trip ever,' Tom says to Lisa. 'I agree,' Lisa replies with a smile. 'I learned so much today.' Mrs. Johnson stands up as the bus approaches the school. 'I hope you all had fun today,' she says. 'Remember to do your homework about the trip!' The students groan playfully. They do not want homework, but they know it is important. Parents are waiting outside the school to pick up their children. Tom's mother asks him about his day. He talks excitedly about the dinosaurs and meteorite. Lisa shows her mother the butterfly poster. Her mother thinks it is beautiful. It was truly an unforgettable day for everyone in Class 5B.
