Max se réveille lundi matin. Son nez coule. Sa gorge lui fait mal. 'Maman, je me sens malade,' dit Max. Sa mère touche son front. 'Tu as de la fièvre,' dit-elle. Max ne peut pas aller à l'école aujourd'hui. Il reste au lit. Sa mère lui apporte du thé avec du miel. 'Cela aidera ta gorge,' dit-elle. Max boit le thé chaud lentement. Cela fait du bien. Il éternue plusieurs fois. 'Atchoum! Atchoum!' fait Max. Sa mère lui donne des mouchoirs. Max regarde des dessins animés à la télé. Son chat s'assoit avec lui sur le lit. Au déjeuner, sa mère fait de la soupe. La soupe au poulet est la préférée de Max. Il mange la soupe et se sent un peu mieux. L'après-midi, Max dort. Le sommeil aide le corps à guérir. Après trois jours, Max se sent beaucoup mieux. Son nez ne coule plus. 'Je peux aller à l'école demain!' dit Max joyeusement.
