Today I am working from home for the first time. My company allows us to work remotely on Fridays. I wake up at seven o'clock, the same time as usual. But today I do not need to get ready to leave the house. I take a quick shower and put on comfortable clothes. I make myself a cup of coffee and eat a small breakfast. My home office is in a corner of my living room. I have a desk, a comfortable chair, and my laptop. I also have a second monitor to help me work better. At eight thirty, I sit down at my desk and turn on my computer. First, I check my emails to see if there is anything urgent. I have three new messages from my colleagues. One of them asks me to review a document before noon. I reply that I will do it right away. At nine o'clock, we have a video meeting with the whole team. I make sure my camera and microphone are working properly. Everyone greets each other and shares what they will work on today. My manager reminds us about an important deadline next week. The meeting lasts about thirty minutes. After the meeting, I start working on my main project. It is very quiet in my apartment, which helps me concentrate. I can hear birds singing outside my window. By eleven o'clock, I have finished reviewing the document. I send it back to my colleague with my comments. Then I take a short break to stretch my legs. I walk around my apartment for a few minutes. I also make another cup of coffee. At noon, I stop working to have lunch. I heat up some soup that I made yesterday. It is nice to eat a home-cooked meal during my break. After lunch, I continue working on my project. I have a video call with a client at two o'clock. The call goes well and the client is happy with our progress. In the afternoon, I receive many messages on our team chat. Some of my colleagues have questions about the project. I try to answer them as quickly as possible. At four o'clock, I feel a little tired. I decide to take a short walk outside to get some fresh air. The weather is nice and the walk helps me feel better. I come back home and work for two more hours. By six o'clock, I have finished all my tasks for the day. I close my laptop and leave my desk. Working from home was a nice change. I did not waste time commuting to the office. I also felt more relaxed working in my own space. However, I missed talking to my colleagues in person. I think I will enjoy working from home one day a week. It is a good balance between home and office work.
