Today is my first day at my new job. I wake up very early because I don't want to be late. I put on my new shirt and black pants. I eat breakfast quickly and drink my coffee. I check my bag three times to make sure I have everything. I leave home thirty minutes earlier than I need to. The office is in a big building in the city center. I find the building easily but I am very nervous. I take a deep breath and walk through the front door. The security guard asks for my name and gives me a visitor badge. He tells me to go to the third floor. I take the elevator and find the reception area. A friendly woman at the desk smiles at me. She says my manager will come to meet me soon. I sit down and wait for a few minutes. A tall man in a gray suit comes to greet me. He introduces himself as David, my new manager. David welcomes me to the company and shakes my hand. He gives me a tour of the office. First, he shows me the main work area with many desks. Then he takes me to the kitchen where employees eat lunch. There is a coffee machine and a big refrigerator. David also shows me the meeting rooms and the bathrooms. Finally, he brings me to my new desk by the window. I have a computer, a phone, and some office supplies. My desk neighbor is a woman named Lisa. Lisa is very kind and offers to help me if I need anything. David gives me some papers to read about the company. I spend the morning reading and learning about my new workplace. At noon, Lisa asks me if I want to join her for lunch. We go to the kitchen and eat our sandwiches together. Lisa tells me about the other people in the office. She says everyone here is very friendly and helpful. After lunch, David comes back with more tasks for me. He shows me how to use the computer system. I take many notes because there is a lot to remember. In the afternoon, I meet more of my new colleagues. Everyone introduces themselves and says welcome. They all seem very nice and I start to feel more comfortable. At five o'clock, David tells me I can go home. He says I did a great job on my first day. I say goodbye to Lisa and my other new colleagues. I take the elevator down and walk out of the building. On my way home, I think about my first day. I am tired but very happy with my new job.
