Today I have an important business lunch. I am meeting a client from another company. We want to discuss a new project together. The restaurant is near my office. I reserved a table for two at noon. I put on my best suit this morning. I want to make a good impression. I arrive at the restaurant five minutes early. The waiter shows me to our table. It is a quiet corner, perfect for business. I look at the menu while I wait. The client arrives exactly on time. His name is Mr. Johnson. We shake hands and sit down. The waiter brings us water and menus. We start with some small talk. Mr. Johnson asks about my weekend. I tell him I went hiking with friends. He says he likes hiking too. We find that we have things in common. Then we order our food. I choose a salad and grilled fish. Mr. Johnson orders pasta and a steak. While we wait, we talk about the project. He explains what his company needs. I take notes in my small notebook. I tell him about our services and prices. He asks many good questions. The food arrives and it looks delicious. We continue talking while we eat. The conversation is going very well. Mr. Johnson seems interested in working together. I feel confident about this meeting. After the main course, we order coffee. We discuss the next steps for the project. I will send him a proposal next week. He says he will review it with his team. We finish our coffee and ask for the bill. I pay because I invited him to lunch. We shake hands again at the door. I thank him for his time. It was a very successful business lunch.
