My friend and I are spending the weekend in Paris. We arrived by train yesterday afternoon. The train ride from London took only two hours. We are staying at a small hotel near the city center. Our room has a nice view of a quiet street. This morning we woke up early and had breakfast at a café. I ordered a croissant and a cup of coffee. The croissant was fresh and delicious. After breakfast, we walked to the Eiffel Tower. It was a beautiful sunny morning. The tower looked amazing against the blue sky. We decided to take the elevator to the top. There were many tourists waiting in line. We waited for about thirty minutes. The view from the top was absolutely incredible. We could see the whole city of Paris. I took many photos with my camera. After the Eiffel Tower, we went to the Louvre Museum. It is one of the most famous museums in the world. We bought our tickets online to save time. Inside the museum, we saw the Mona Lisa painting. It was smaller than I expected, but very beautiful. We spent three hours exploring the museum. There was so much art to see. By afternoon, we were very hungry. We found a lovely restaurant near the Seine River. I ordered French onion soup and a salad. My friend had a steak with fries. The food was excellent and not too expensive. After lunch, we walked along the river. We saw many beautiful bridges. Some people were having picnics by the water. In the evening, we went to the famous neighborhood of Montmartre. There were many artists painting pictures on the street. We watched them work and talked to some of them. I bought a small painting as a souvenir. Tomorrow is our last day in Paris. We plan to visit Notre-Dame Cathedral in the morning. In the afternoon, we will do some shopping. I want to buy French cheese and chocolate to take home. This weekend has been wonderful so far. Paris is a truly magical city. I hope to come back again someday. For now, I am enjoying every moment here. It is a trip I will always remember.
