1Impersonal Passive with Się
The most common way to express passive meaning in Polish is using się with the third person singular verb. This creates impersonal statements where the agent is unknown or unimportant. Mówi się (it is said), robi się (it is done), sprzedaje się (it is sold).

The true passive uses być (to be) + past passive participle. The participle agrees in gender and number with the subject. The participle ends in -ny/-ty for masculine, -na/-ta for feminine, -ne/-te for neuter. Został/została (became) indicates completed action.

3Agent Expression with Przez
When the agent (doer) needs to be mentioned, use przez + accusative case. This is equivalent to 'by' in English passive. Jest robiony przez Marka (is being done by Marek). The agent is often omitted in Polish passive constructions.

4Passive in Different Tenses
The passive can be formed in various tenses by changing the auxiliary verb. Present: jest + participle. Past: był/została + participle. Future: będzie + participle. The participle always agrees with the subject in gender and number.
