1Potere (Can/To Be Able)
Potere expresses ability or permission. Irregular present: posso, puoi, può, possiamo, potete, possono.

2Volere (To Want)
Volere expresses desire or will. Irregular present: voglio, vuoi, vuole, vogliamo, volete, vogliono.

3Dovere (Must/Have To)
Dovere expresses obligation or necessity. Irregular present: devo, devi, deve, dobbiamo, dovete, devono.

4Modals with Essere/Avere
In passato prossimo, modals take essere if the following verb uses essere. The participle may agree.
