Tom se réveille lundi matin. Il ne se sent pas bien. Il a mal à la tête. Il a mal à la gorge. Tom prend sa température. Il a de la fièvre. 'Je ne peux pas aller travailler aujourd'hui,' pense Tom. Il doit appeler son patron. Tom prend son téléphone. Il appelle le bureau. 'Bonjour, c'est Tom,' dit-il. 'Je suis malade et je ne peux pas venir travailler aujourd'hui.' Son patron dit : 'Je suis désolé d'entendre ça.' 'Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas?' 'J'ai de la fièvre et mal à la gorge,' explique Tom. 'Prenez soin de vous,' dit son patron. 'Reposez-vous et buvez beaucoup d'eau.' Tom remercie son patron et raccroche. Il retourne au lit. Tom dort pendant de nombreuses heures. Il boit du thé et mange de la soupe. Le lendemain, Tom se sent un peu mieux. Mais il reste à la maison un jour de plus. Mercredi, Tom se sent beaucoup mieux. Il retourne au travail.
