Deep in the forest, seven dwarfs lived together in a small cottage. Every morning, they went to work in the diamond mine. Their names were Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey. Doc was the leader and wore small glasses. Grumpy always had a serious face and complained about everything. Happy sang songs all day and made everyone laugh. Sleepy was always tired and yawned constantly. Bashful was shy and his face turned red when anyone talked to him. Sneezy had allergies and sneezed many times every day. Dopey never spoke, but he was very friendly and kind. One day, they came home from work and found something strange. The door was open and the house was clean. 'She's beautiful!' whispered Bashful, his face bright red. 'Who is she?' asked Doc. When the woman woke up, she told them her story. 'My name is Snow White,' she said. 'My stepmother, the Queen, wants to kill me because I am more beautiful than her.' The dwarfs felt sorry for Snow White. 'You can stay with us,' said Doc kindly. 'But you must be careful and never open the door to strangers.' Snow White was very happy and thanked them. Every day, the dwarfs went to work and Snow White stayed home. She cleaned the cottage and cooked delicious meals for them. In the evening, they all sat together and told stories. Happy always sang his favorite songs. Even Grumpy started to smile sometimes. But far away in the castle, the Queen looked into her magic mirror. 'Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?' she asked. The mirror answered, 'Snow White, who lives with the seven dwarfs.' The Queen became very angry. She decided to find Snow White and give her a poisoned apple. The next day, the Queen disguised herself as an old woman. She walked through the forest to the cottage. When she knocked on the door, Snow White opened it. 'Would you like a beautiful red apple, my dear?' asked the old woman. Snow White forgot the dwarfs' warning and took the apple. After one bite, she fell to the ground and did not wake up. When the dwarfs came home that evening, they found Snow White lying still, and they were heartbroken, knowing they would need a prince's true love to save her.
