Emma loved animals more than anything in the world. She lived in a small apartment where pets were not allowed. One day, Emma saw a notice on the community board. 'Pet sitter needed! Good pay! Call Mrs. Johnson.' Emma called the number immediately and got the job. Mrs. Johnson had three pets: a dog named Max, a cat named Whiskers, and a rabbit named Fluffy. 'I'm going on vacation for two weeks,' Mrs. Johnson explained. She showed Emma where the pet food was kept. 'Max needs to be walked twice a day, in the morning and evening.' 'Whiskers is very independent but likes to be brushed.' 'Fluffy needs fresh vegetables every day and clean water.' Emma wrote everything down in a notebook so she wouldn't forget. The first morning, Emma arrived at Mrs. Johnson's house at seven o'clock. Max was so excited to see her that he jumped up and licked her face. Emma laughed and put on Max's leash for their morning walk. They walked through the park and Max chased squirrels playfully. When they returned, Emma fed Max his breakfast. Whiskers watched from the windowsill, looking unimpressed. Emma tried to pet the cat, but Whiskers walked away slowly. 'Don't worry, I'll win you over eventually,' Emma said to the cat. Next, Emma went to check on Fluffy the rabbit. Fluffy was sitting in her cage, twitching her little nose. Emma gave her fresh carrots and lettuce, and changed her water. The days passed quickly as Emma took care of the three pets. She became friends with each of them in different ways. Max loved playing fetch in the park and going on long walks. Fluffy would hop around the living room when Emma let her out of the cage. And slowly, even Whiskers began to trust Emma. One evening, the cat jumped onto Emma's lap while she was reading. Emma was so happy that she almost cried. One day, there was a problem. Max escaped from the garden when Emma left the gate open by accident. Emma ran after him, calling his name loudly. 'Max! Come back! Max!' She searched the neighborhood for an hour, feeling very worried. Finally, she found Max sitting by the pond in the park. He was watching the ducks swim in the water. 'There you are!' Emma said with relief and hugged the dog. From that day on, she was always very careful with the gate. Two weeks passed, and Mrs. Johnson came home from her vacation. She was very pleased to see that all her pets were healthy and happy. 'You did a wonderful job, Emma!' Mrs. Johnson said gratefully. She paid Emma and gave her a big tip as a thank you. Emma felt sad to say goodbye to Max, Whiskers, and Fluffy. But Mrs. Johnson promised that Emma could visit them anytime and be their pet sitter again.
