A big lion sleeps under a tree. He is the king of the forest. A small mouse runs near the lion. She does not see the lion. The mouse runs on the lion's paw. The lion wakes up. He catches the mouse with his big paw. 'I will eat you!' says the lion. The mouse is very scared. 'Please let me go!' she says. 'One day I will help you.' The lion laughs. 'You are so small! How can you help me?' But the lion lets the mouse go. The mouse runs away fast. Many days pass. One day, hunters come to the forest. They catch the lion in a big net. The lion cannot escape. He roars very loud. The little mouse hears the lion. She runs to help him. The mouse bites the net with her small teeth. She makes a big hole in the net. The lion escapes through the hole. 'Thank you, little mouse!' says the lion. 'You were right. Small friends can help in big ways.' The lion and the mouse become good friends.
