Vandaag is een bijzondere dag voor Leo. Het is zijn eerste dag op een nieuwe school. Leo wordt vroeg wakker. Hij is een beetje zenuwachtig. Zijn moeder maakt ontbijt. 'Je zult nieuwe vrienden maken,' zegt ze. Leo doet zijn nieuwe rugzak om. Zijn vader brengt hem naar school. De school is groot en mooi. Leo loopt naar zijn klaslokaal. De leraar verwelkomt hem. 'Hallo, Leo! Welkom in onze klas!' Leo gaat zitten aan een tafel bij het raam. Een jongen naast hem glimlacht. 'Hoi! Ik ben Tom. Hoe heet jij?' 'Ik ben Leo,' antwoordt hij. Ze praten over hun favoriete spellen. De eerste les is wiskunde. Leo houdt van getallen. In de pauze spelen Tom en Leo samen. Ze rennen op de speelplaats. Na school haalt zijn vader hem op. 'Hoe was je dag?' vraagt zijn vader. 'Het was geweldig! Ik heb een nieuwe vriend gemaakt!' Leo kan niet wachten tot morgen.
