1Concessive Connectors (vaikka, huolimatta)
Concessive connectors express contrast or unexpected outcomes. 'Vaikka' (although/even though) introduces a subordinate clause. 'Siitä huolimatta' and 'silti' (nevertheless) connect main clauses. These show that the result is unexpected given the circumstances.

2Causal and Result Connectors
Causal connectors show cause and effect. 'Siksi' and 'sen takia' (therefore, that is why) introduce results. 'Joten' and 'niin että' (so that) connect cause to result. These help explain why something happened or what resulted from it.

3Conditional and Hypothetical Connectors
Conditional connectors express hypothetical situations. 'Jos' (if) is basic, while 'ellei' (unless/if not) expresses negative conditions. 'Mikäli' is more formal than jos. 'Siinä tapauksessa että' (in case) introduces contingency planning.

4Time Sequence Connectors
Time sequence connectors establish when events happen relative to each other. 'Kunnes' (until) marks an end point. 'Heti kun' (as soon as) marks immediate sequence. 'Sen jälkeen kun' (after) and 'ennen kuin' (before) establish time relationships.
