Count in Spanish from 1 to 100. Learn the patterns for forming numbers, including special rules for uno/una agreement and the unique forms for 11-15 and multiples of ten.

1Numbers 1-15

Numbers 1-15 must be memorized as they have unique forms. Note that uno becomes un before masculine nouns and una before feminine. These are the foundation for all Spanish numbers.

2Numbers 16-29

Numbers 16-19 are written as one word: dieci + number (dieciséis, diecisiete, etc.). Numbers 21-29 follow the pattern: veinti + number (veintiuno, veintidós, etc.). 20 is veinte.

3Numbers 30-99

From 30 onwards, compound numbers use y (and): treinta y uno, cuarenta y dos, etc. The tens (30, 40, 50...) end in -enta. Remember: uno becomes un/una when followed by a noun.

4Using Numbers in Context

Numbers are used with time, age, prices, and counting. Cien is used for exactly 100, while ciento is used for 101-199. Uno agrees in gender with the following noun throughout all compounds.
