Anna ordered a birthday present for her mother online. It was a beautiful red scarf. Anna typed her address carefully. She lived at 42 Oak Street. But she made a small mistake. She typed 24 instead of 42. Anna did not notice the mistake. Three days later, the package arrived. But it arrived at the wrong house. An old man named Mr. Peters lived at 24 Oak Street. He was surprised to receive a package. 'I did not order anything,' he said to himself. He looked at the name on the package. It said Anna Miller. 'This is not for me,' Mr. Peters realized. He decided to find the right person. Mr. Peters walked to number 42. He rang the doorbell. Anna opened the door. 'Hello, are you Anna Miller?' he asked. 'Yes, that is me,' Anna replied. 'I think this package is for you,' said Mr. Peters. Anna looked at the package and gasped. 'Oh no! My mother's birthday present!' 'I put the wrong address,' she realized. Anna felt very embarrassed. 'Thank you so much for bringing it,' she said. 'You are welcome,' Mr. Peters smiled. 'It was a nice walk anyway.' Anna wanted to thank him properly. 'Would you like to come in for tea?' she asked. 'That would be lovely,' Mr. Peters said. They sat in the kitchen and talked. Anna learned that Mr. Peters lived alone. His wife had passed away two years ago. Anna felt sad for him. 'You should visit us sometime,' she said. Mr. Peters smiled warmly. What started as a mistake became a new friendship. Sometimes mistakes can bring people together.
