Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Snow White. She had skin as white as snow and hair as black as night. Her stepmother, the Queen, was very jealous of her beauty. The Queen had a magic mirror on the wall. Every day, she asked, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" The mirror always answered, "You are, my Queen." But one day, the mirror said something different. "Snow White is now the fairest in the land." The Queen was very angry. She ordered a huntsman to take Snow White into the forest. "Kill her and bring me her heart," the Queen commanded. The huntsman took Snow White deep into the forest. But he could not kill the innocent princess. "Run away and never come back," he told her. Snow White ran through the dark forest. She was scared and alone. Finally, she found a tiny cottage in the woods. She knocked on the door, but nobody answered. She went inside and saw seven small chairs and seven small beds. She was so tired that she fell asleep on the beds. When the seven dwarfs came home, they found Snow White. "Who is this beautiful girl?" they asked. Snow White woke up and told them her sad story. The dwarfs felt sorry for her. "You can live with us," they said. Snow White was happy and helped them clean and cook. Meanwhile, the Queen asked her mirror again. The mirror said, "Snow White is still alive and still the fairest." The Queen was furious. She disguised herself as an old woman. She made a poisoned apple that looked delicious. The Queen found the cottage and offered the apple to Snow White. "Try this beautiful apple, my dear," she said. Snow White took a bite and fell to the ground. The dwarfs came home and found her. They thought she was dead and placed her in a glass coffin. One day, a handsome prince rode through the forest. He saw Snow White in the coffin and fell in love with her. "Please let me take her to my castle," he begged the dwarfs. As the prince lifted the coffin, the apple fell from Snow White's mouth. She opened her eyes and saw the prince. "Where am I?" she asked. The prince told her what had happened. He asked her to marry him, and she said yes. They lived happily ever after.
