Wendy, John, and Michael lived in London with their parents. Every night, their mother told them stories about a magical boy. His name was Peter Pan, and he could fly. One night, something wonderful happened. Peter Pan flew through their window with a tiny fairy. The fairy's name was Tinker Bell, and she glowed with golden light. 'Come with me to Neverland!' said Peter. 'What is Neverland?' asked Wendy. 'It is a magical island where children never grow up,' Peter explained. Peter sprinkled fairy dust on the children. 'Think happy thoughts, and you will fly!' he said. Wendy thought about her favorite stories. John thought about adventures and swords. Little Michael thought about his teddy bear. Suddenly, they all began to float! They flew out the window and over the rooftops of London. 'Second star to the right, and straight on till morning!' called Peter. After a long flight, they saw a beautiful island below them. 'Welcome to Neverland!' said Peter proudly. The island had tall mountains, green forests, and sparkling rivers. Peter took them to his home under a big tree. There, they met the Lost Boys, who lived with Peter. 'Will you be our mother?' the Lost Boys asked Wendy. Wendy smiled and agreed to tell them bedtime stories. But there was danger in Neverland. Captain Hook was a cruel pirate who hated Peter Pan. Peter had cut off Hook's hand in a fight, and a crocodile had eaten it. Now Hook had a shiny metal hook instead of his hand. The crocodile wanted to eat the rest of Hook too. Luckily, the crocodile had swallowed a clock, so Hook could always hear it coming. One day, Hook captured Wendy and the Lost Boys. He took them to his pirate ship. 'Walk the plank!' ordered Hook. But Peter came to save them! Peter and Hook had a great sword fight on the ship. Peter was quick and brave. He pushed Hook off the ship and into the water. The crocodile was waiting below, tick-tock, tick-tock! Hook swam away as fast as he could. Everyone cheered for Peter! After the adventure, Wendy started to miss her parents. 'I want to go home,' she told Peter. Peter was sad, but he understood. He flew Wendy, John, and Michael back to London. Their parents were so happy to see them again. 'Will you come back?' asked Wendy. 'Every spring, to hear your stories,' promised Peter with a smile. And he flew away into the night sky, back to Neverland. Wendy never forgot her adventure with the boy who never grew up.
