A1 Finnish GrammarBasic Questions
Form yes/no questions and use question words (kuka, mikä, missä, milloin, miksi, miten) in Finnish. Learn the unique -ko/-kö question particle, understand question word placement, and master basic conversational questions.
1Yes/No Questions with -ko/-kö
Finnish forms yes/no questions by adding the particle -ko (after back vowels: a, o, u) or -kö (after front vowels: ä, ö, y) to the verb. The verb with the particle comes first in the sentence. This is very different from English word order.
