Maya bought a coffee maker last week. She was excited to use it every morning. But there was a problem. The coffee maker did not work properly. It made strange noises and leaked water. Maya decided to return it to the store. She looked for the receipt in her bag. Luckily, she found it in her wallet. Maya packed the coffee maker in its original box. She drove to the electronics store on Saturday morning. The store was already busy with customers. Maya walked to the customer service desk. There was a short line of people waiting. She waited patiently for her turn. After ten minutes, it was finally her turn. A friendly employee greeted her with a smile. 'Hello, how can I help you today?' the employee asked. 'I would like to return this coffee maker,' Maya said. She placed the box on the counter. 'May I ask what the problem is?' the employee asked. 'It does not work,' Maya explained. 'It makes loud noises and water leaks from the bottom.' The employee nodded with understanding. 'I am sorry to hear that,' she said. 'Do you have the receipt?' 'Yes, here it is,' Maya said and handed over the receipt. The employee looked at the receipt carefully. 'You bought this five days ago,' she said. 'Our return policy is thirty days, so there is no problem.' Maya felt relieved to hear this. 'Would you like an exchange or a refund?' the employee asked. Maya thought about it for a moment. 'I would prefer a refund, please,' she said. 'I will buy a different brand instead.' 'No problem,' the employee said. She typed something on her computer. 'How did you pay for this item?' she asked. 'I used my credit card,' Maya replied. 'Perfect, the refund will go back to your card,' the employee explained. 'It may take three to five business days.' 'That sounds fine,' Maya said. The employee printed a document and gave it to Maya. 'This is your return confirmation,' she said. 'Please keep it for your records.' 'Thank you very much for your help,' Maya said. 'You are welcome,' the employee replied with a smile. 'Have a nice day!' Maya left the store feeling satisfied. The return process had been easier than she expected. Next week, she would look for a better coffee maker.
