Tom landed at the airport in Munich after a long flight. He was tired but excited to visit Germany. Tom walked to the baggage claim area. He watched the conveyor belt go around and around. Suitcases and bags appeared one by one. Other passengers grabbed their luggage and left. Tom waited patiently for his blue suitcase. Twenty minutes passed, and the belt stopped moving. His suitcase was not there. Tom felt his heart sink. 'Where is my suitcase?' he thought. He looked around and saw a sign for Lost Baggage. Tom walked to the office and joined a short queue. A woman with a kind face was working at the counter. 'Good afternoon. How can I help you?' she asked. 'My suitcase did not arrive,' Tom explained. 'I am sorry to hear that,' she said. 'May I see your boarding pass and passport?' Tom gave her both documents. She typed on her computer for a minute. 'I found your bag in the system,' she said. 'It is still in Paris.' Tom sighed with relief. At least his bag was not completely lost. 'When will it arrive here?' he asked. 'It will be on the next flight, arriving this evening.' 'We can deliver it to your hotel,' she offered. 'That would be wonderful,' Tom said gratefully. The woman gave him a form to fill out. Tom wrote down his name, phone number, and hotel address. He also described his suitcase. 'It is a large blue suitcase with a red ribbon on the handle.' 'Thank you,' the woman said. 'Here is your tracking number.' 'You can check the status online.' Tom thanked her and put the paper in his pocket. But then he realized a problem. All his clothes were in the suitcase. He had no clean shirt for his meeting tomorrow. 'Is there anything you can do?' he asked. 'The airline offers compensation for delayed baggage,' she explained. 'You can buy essential items like toiletries and clothes.' 'We will reimburse you up to one hundred euros.' Tom felt much better after hearing this. The woman gave him a voucher and instructions. 'Keep all your receipts,' she reminded him. Tom left the airport and took a taxi to a shopping center. He bought a new shirt, underwear, and a toothbrush. Later that evening, his phone rang. 'Your luggage has arrived and is on its way to your hotel.' Tom smiled and felt relieved. An hour later, a delivery driver brought his blue suitcase. Everything inside was safe and undamaged. Tom learned an important lesson that day. Always pack a change of clothes in your carry-on bag!
