Anna woke up late on Monday morning. She looked at her phone and gasped. The job interview was in one hour. She jumped out of bed quickly. Her alarm had not gone off. Anna ran to the bathroom. She took the fastest shower of her life. She brushed her teeth while getting dressed. Her professional outfit was still on the chair. She put on her black pants and white blouse. Anna grabbed her bag and portfolio. She ran out of the apartment without breakfast. The elevator was broken again. She took the stairs down five floors. Outside, the streets were crowded with people. Anna looked for a taxi but there were none. She decided to take the subway instead. The station was two blocks away. Anna ran as fast as she could. She arrived at the station sweating. The train was just leaving. She waited nervously for the next one. It arrived after five long minutes. Anna got on and found a seat. She checked her makeup in a small mirror. Her hair was a mess. She tried to fix it with her fingers. The train stopped three times before her station. Finally, she arrived downtown. The company building was across the street. Anna ran through the lobby. She pressed the elevator button many times. The elevator came and she went to the tenth floor. She found the reception desk. 'I am here for the interview,' she said breathlessly. The receptionist smiled kindly. 'You are fifteen minutes early,' she said. Anna could not believe it. She had looked at her phone wrong. She laughed with relief. The receptionist offered her some water. Anna sat down and caught her breath. She reviewed her notes one more time. When they called her name, she felt ready. The interview went very well.
