Emma and her husband David waited at the airport gate. Their flight to Spain was delayed by two hours. David looked at the departure board and sighed. 'Let's go to the duty-free shop,' Emma suggested. 'We have plenty of time now.' They walked through the busy terminal together. The duty-free shop was large and bright. Perfume bottles sparkled on the shelves. Chocolate boxes were stacked in tall towers. Alcohol bottles stood in neat rows. 'Look at these prices,' David said with surprise. 'This whisky costs twenty euros less than in the supermarket.' Emma nodded and picked up a bottle of French perfume. She sprayed a little on her wrist. The scent was fresh and flowery. A shop assistant approached them with a friendly smile. 'Can I help you with anything?' she asked. 'Yes, please,' Emma replied. 'I am looking for a gift for my mother.' The assistant showed her a selection of skincare products. David wandered to the electronics section. He found watches, headphones, and sunglasses on display. A pair of designer sunglasses caught his attention. He tried them on and checked his reflection in a small mirror. 'These look good,' he thought. Emma joined her husband near the watches. 'What do you think of these?' she asked, holding a small bag. Inside were perfume and a moisturizer cream. 'Great choices,' David replied. 'And I found these sunglasses.' 'They are half the normal price.' They continued exploring the shop. Emma stopped at the chocolate section. She selected a box of Belgian chocolates for David's parents. 'They will love these,' she said happily. At the alcohol section, David compared different wines. A red wine from Italy looked interesting. He read the label carefully. 'This would be perfect for our anniversary dinner,' he told Emma. They brought their items to the checkout counter. The cashier scanned each product quickly. 'Your passport, please,' she requested. Emma handed over both passports. The cashier checked their boarding passes too. 'Your total is eighty-five euros,' the cashier announced. David paid with his credit card. The cashier packed everything carefully in duty-free bags. 'Keep these bags sealed until you arrive at your destination,' she advised. They walked back toward the gate with their purchases. An announcement played over the speakers. 'Flight to Barcelona is now boarding at gate fifteen.' Emma smiled at David. 'Perfect timing,' she said. They joined the queue at the gate. Other passengers carried duty-free bags too. Emma felt excited about their vacation. The shopping had made the delay enjoyable. David looked at his new sunglasses one more time. 'Spain, here we come,' he said with a grin.
